DEATH VALLEY JUNCTION — Marta Beckett, the desert queen of dance and her town of Death Valley Junction seems to roll with the punches. Bad weather during the summer monsoon season severely damaged the Amargosa Opera House, forcing it to close for several months and now its doors are open once again.

The Pahrump Valley Times is looking for area residents who do more than hang some lights outside to celebrate the holidays.
The Pahrump Valley Lions Club is inviting all children to age 12 for a free breakfast from 8:30 a.m. to 11 a.m., Saturday, Dec. 6 at the Pahrump Valley Auto Plaza. Those over 12 and up can enjoy breakfast with the children for $5 per person.
