Halloween and Nevada Day, what a combination. It seems as if everyone everywhere has something going on. Both Shoshone Old West Days and Beatty Days are set for this weekend. Today is a holiday celebrating Nevada’s 150th birthday and it’s also a night for ghosts goblins and parties.
We wait all year for the chance to buy pumpkins and it feels like such a waste to throw it out. But wait — you can cook pumpkin!
Key Club Halloween
The Pahrump Valley Obedience Club (PVOC) held its annual obedience and rally trials on Saturday and Sunday, Oct. 25 and 26 at Petrack Park. The judging was done by American Kennel Club (AKC)-trained and certified judges.

A solo show called “Spirits Among Us,” celebrating Dia de los Muertos (Day of the Dead) in glass by Karla Ely from Pahrump is now on exhibit in Tecopa.
This is surprisingly fast, easy and cheap. So much so you’ll never buy meringues at the bakery again. This is easiest with a stand mixer but I’ve used a hand mixer with no trouble. I wouldn’t try to make meringues by hand, it’s too much work for a Diva.

Possibly the largest yard sale ever held in Pahrump is taking place this Friday and Saturday, Oct. 24 and 25 inside the former Skate Zone, next to Frazier Furniture, from 7 a.m. until 2 p.m. each day.
