Pahrump Senior Center

The menu (subject to change) and activities for the week of Dec. 19 – Dec. 23. Two percent milk and juice available daily:

Monday – Tamale pie, corn, salad, mixed fruit, navy bean soup;

Tuesday — Low-sodium kielbasa, parsley potatoes, sauerkraut, carrots, applesauce, soup;

Wednesday — Tuna noodle casserole, Normandy vegetables, sliced tomatoes, whole wheat bread, oatmeal cookie, soup;

Thursday — Beef stew, salad w/chick peas, biscuit w/honey, fruit, soup;

Friday – Baked ham, dinner roll, broccoli casserole, yams, fruit salad, cherry surprise, soup.

Activities

Monday — Exercise class, 9:30 a.m.; beading class, 12:30 p.m.; poker, 12:30 p.m.;

Tuesday — Exercise class, 9:30 a.m.; bridge, 12:30 p.m.; haircuts, 1-3 p.m.;

Wednesday — Crafty Ladies, 12:30 p.m.;

Thursday — Exercise class, 9:30 a.m.; haircuts, 1 p.m.;

Friday — Christmas Dinner – NO ACTIVITIES

Amargosa Valley Senior Center

The menu (subject to change) for the week of Dec. 19 – Dec. 23:

Two percent milk available daily. Meals are served at the Amargosa Valley Senior Center from 4:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. Breakfast served from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m.

Monday — Spaghetti w/meat sauce, baked acorn squash, colorful salad, fat-free creamy Italian dressing, 7-grain bread, strawberry-banana yogurt pop;

Tuesday — Beef rib roast, mashed potatoes and gravy, steamed harvest vegetables, dinner roll, fruit, pie, warm apple cider;

Wednesday — Potato crunch fish, steamed brown rice, sweet peas, Jell-O with fruit;

Thursday — Chicken teriyaki, fried rice, layered salad, fresh orange;

Friday — Biscuits and gravy, scrambled eggs, mixed fruit, oatmeal, orange juice.

Beatty Senior Center

The menu (subject to change) for the week of Dec. 19 – Dec. 23:

Two percent milk available. Meals are served at the Beatty Senior Center from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., on Tuesday and Thursday.

Tuesday — Beef rib roast, mashed potatoes and gravy, steamed harvest vegetables, dinner roll, fruit, pie, warm apple cider;

Thursday — Chicken teriyaki, fried rice, layered salad, fresh orange.

“The Community Easter Picnic was a huge success,” Pahrump Holiday Task Force chair Linda Wright raved following the group’s annual, large-scale event, noting that she and her entire team were very pleased with the turnout. The event on April 8 attracted 1,000 people to the park, organizers said.
