Body found behind Pahrump Nugget on Monday morning
Nye County Sheriff’s detectives are investigating a body discovered in the desert behind the Pahrump Nugget Hotel and Casino late Monday morning.
Sheriff’s dispatch were notified of the body just after 10 a.m. on the northeast side of the property.
Details on the age, gender and cause of death have yet to be released, and officials with the Pahrump Nugget have not commented on the discovery.
According to sheriff’s dispatch traffic, an employee of the Nugget discovered the body and authorities were then notified.
The desert area behind the property has long been a haven for some of the community’s homeless population.
