New Mountain Valley medical clinic holds open house
The Mountain Valley Physicians Group held an open house and ribbon cutting Wednesday, to show off its new clinic to the public and introduce their staff, including their newest physician, David Rivas to the community.
Located at 3370 S. Highway 160, Suite 9, the clinic is the second location for MVPG, and is the group’s Primary Care clinic, with Dr. Rivas, Dr. Sejal Duggal, and Dr. Amit Duggal.
Rivas began seeing patients at the new location in March and was excited to attend the event, as many in the community have yet to meet him.
“I’m very pleased the event took place today, and am happy to encourage the patients to set an appointment for our clinic here,” Rivas said. “We see patients from all ages.”
Rivas is board certified in family medicine and has more than 20 years of experience in the medical field. The addition of Dr. Rivas to the MVPG group is a significant event for the Pahrump community, as there is currently only one other pediatrician. Dr. Rivas sees patients of all ages, from pediatrics — including infants — to seniors.
With health care in Nye County a continuing concern, openings of new health clinics in the area are always a welcome sight.
Desert View Hospital CEO, Kelly Adams, is excited to offer increased medical care to the valley, well aware there’s a need for it in the area.
“We couldn’t be more pleased with Dr. Rivas and the Dr. Duggals that are here,” Adams said. “This new clinic out here on the south 160 is that of us expanding our footprint, and reaching more into the Artesia, the Mountain Falls, and to the citizens just to the west.
“It’s just about quality care and availability of care. It’s terrific physicians like Dr. Rivas that were in a position now to reach out to the community just a little bit more.”
The clinic itself is new and has plenty to offer those in medical need, and those who are curious to how the clinic looks inside and couldn’t make the open house are in luck.
“We worked with the landlords and they’ve totally redone the inside,” Adams said. “Even if they can’t make it today for the open house, I think our managers would welcome the citizens to come down and take a look around.”
