Warmer temps on the way

Temperatures are set to rise again after a brief cooldown that saw precipitation in the area.

The National Weather Service said the brief wet weather that hit Pahrump Wednesday into Thursday was just a brief event, with things settling down for the foreseeable future.

"We will go into high pressure through Tuesday and probably beyond that," said John Salmen, National Weather Service meteorologist. "It will be dry through next Tuesday, with temperatures gradually warming back up."

The temps will be near what the area saw last week, getting into the low 70s Saturday and Sunday, with temps topping out around 74 degrees Tuesday.

"We'll get back into the low 70s here for the weekend and it looks like the mid-70s for Sunday through Wednesday," Salmen said. "The temperatures on Friday will be around five degrees above average and as we get into Sunday and beyond that will be more like 10 to 12 degrees above normal."

The valley saw around .09 inches of rain with the storm that passed through town Wednesday, with the majority of the measurable rain falling before midnight Thursday.
