Letter to the Editor

Thank you letter from CAN advocacy chairperson

I am so proud to be a member of the American Cancer Society and to be the chairperson for the Cancer Action Network advocacy group.

I would like to thank everyone who joined this year making our Pahrump Relay for Life cancer walk on May 14th an ACS CAN event, only the second one in southern Nevada, plus we set a record of signing up 60 members.

The Cancer Action Network is nonprofit and nonpartisan and works to make cancer issues a national priority.

Our Quality of Life initiative platform works to improve the life of cancer patients by making treatment of their pain and other symptoms, plus coordinating their care, a standard protocol for palliative care.

Thank you Cindy Roragen, my Las Vegas staff partner, for your support and encouragement and Sherry Jasperson for helping sign up relayers at the Relay for Life event.

Thank you Glenn and Sherry for manning the ACS CAN table with me.

Thank you Event Chair Kayla Gieni and all the committee members for your help.

For further information about ACS CAN or to join the organization, call me at 775-722-1898.
