Windsor’s Thrift Store to hold liquidation auction
Pahrump business owner Trevor Windsor is calling it quits after more than 14 years operating Windsors Thrift Store and Furniture Shop.
Windsor plans to liquidate his entire inventory at 1481 E. Highway 372 at 10 a.m., on Saturday, by way of a no-reserve auction where everything must go, right down to the store fixtures.
Nevada Public Auction auctioneer Ron Chase said thousands of items are up for bid either at the location, or online.
He said people can bid on items such as brand new furniture, bedroom sets, chairs and recliners and even clothing.
We have about 15,000 pieces of clothing and weve broken them down into large lots based upon size and such, he said. Theyre all clean and sorted so its really nice merchandise. They also carry a lot of thrift store-type items like antiques and collectibles along with sports autographs. Its too numerous to name. People just need to come down and see what we have.
Those interested in bidding can preview all of the items on Friday from 9 a.m., to 5 p.m.
A second preview is scheduled for Saturday at 9 a.m., with the auction beginning at 10 a.m.
Those who cant make it to the location can log on and participate at www.AuctionNV.com.
There will also be a lot of gold and silver jewelry as well as coins, Chase said. You name it and weve probably got it. The auction is also online, so there will be online bidding. The full catalog is online too with things from our website.
As a no-reserve auction, Chase said he hopes to have an empty store when all is said and done on Saturday.
This is a typical auction and everything has a lot number on it, he said. We will start in the catalog order and were selling everything right down to the walls and the fixtures. Sometimes when theres an auction and we dont get a certain price, the item is not sold, but a no-reserve auction means everything in there must go. Were going to have a good time and its going to be a lot of fun, we might be up here for about five or six hours.
Additionally, Chase said accommodations were made to avoid anyone missing out on a bid.
There will be food on site so there will be no need to leave and possibly miss any good deals, he said. All the items are mostly in great shape. Theres going to be a lot of really good stuff that you dont want to miss. We have all of the surplus furniture that hasnt been sold yet so theres brand new bedroom sets, mattresses and chairs and recliners. Everything must go.
