The Flying Pig

900 W. Highway 372

775-751-4835

Age: 45

First job: “I was a dishwasher at a restaurant in Las Vegas when I was 16.”

Years in Business: “I have been in the restaurant business for 30 years.”

Background: “I have worked every position in a restaurant. In Las Vegas I was a restaurant manager at one of the casinos. This is my second restaurant as owner. The Flying Pig came to me because I just happened to see a stuffed flying pig in my wife’s car and it stuck. This restaurant features beef and pork mixed into a patty. We also serve barbecue here and beef patties. Our signature burger is a beef/pork blend double patty stacked high with onion rings and barbecue sauce called the Hungry Heffer.”

Personal: “Believe it or not, when I am stressed, I just like to cook here at the restaurant. My favorite thing to cook is a Philly cheese steak.”

Business Climate: “I really don’t feel I am competing with other restaurants here. I use high quality products and provide my customers the best customer service. Having been in the food business in Las Vegas gave me a good foundation in people skills.”
