Sunny, mild last weekend of summer expected in town

The Pahrump Valley will see a calm, sunny and mild final weekend of summer.

As the Autumn Equinox will usher in fall on Thursday, temperatures in the valley will hover around the lower-to-mid-90s all week.

There are slight breezes expected for today and Saturday but sustained wind speeds will be around 5 mph both days, with no large gusts expected, according to the National Weather Service.

“Looks completely dry and sunny through Monday,” said Clay Morgan, National Weather Service meteorologist.

Sunday and Monday are set to be the hottest days of the next week, with 94 degrees forecast for each day.

The coolest high-temperature day over the next seven days will be today with a high temperature of 90 degrees.

Lows will range between 61 degrees tonight and 64 degrees Tuesday evening.

There is a slim chance of precipitation making its way to town starting Tuesday, but it’s tough to forecast at this time, according to Morgan.

“There is an outside chance that we’ll get some moisture back up here, but we’re not sure at all yet,” he said. “It would be potentially remnants of a tropical storm, but at this point we’re not sure at all.”
