These photos were taken at this year’s Pop Warner Football camp, which was a two-day camp held last Friday and Saturday at the high school. The camp was taught by PVHS football coaches and players, Rosemary Clarke football coaches and Pop Warner coaches.
The Nevada Interscholastic Activities Association, the governing body of all high school sports in the state, announced on Tuesday that four schools will be leaving the current Division I-A.
Mixed martial arts fighter Brandon Schneider has gone into the fitness business. The current amateur Tuff-N-Uff light-heavyweight champion has opened up a fitness gym called, “The House of Fitness” in town with two other partners, Johnny Garcia and Tiffany Gertken. The new gym is located at 301 Oxbow, Suite 9.
The smallest track team in Nye County, Round Mountain, said they had success at the two-day state meet at Carson City last weekend.
Game Time basketball camp will be coming to Pahrump from June 6-9 this year, but it almost didn’t.
Fundraising is hard to do in this town without a large amount of businesses here carrying a big burden and funding many of the events in town. Shoot, we have five major festivals in town now.
Repairs for the Pahrump Valley High School athletic track will commence after graduation is over on May 30.
The Trojans boys track finished 16th (9 points) out of 21 teams and the girls finished in 19th (1) out of 19 schools at the state meet in Carson City on Friday and Saturday.
Beatty track finished the season running at the state meet at Carson City against some fierce competition from the North. At the meet the Lady Hornets, the Southern regional champs met their match, finishing fifth (23 points) out of 14 teams and the Beatty boys team finished in 10th place (9) out of 15 teams. Sierra Lutheran finished in first for the girls (103), Smith Valley was second (45), Eureka was third (38) and Wells was fourth (25). Spring Mountain finished in first place for the boys (72), Sierra Lutheran was second (63), Virginia City third (37) and Excel Christian fourth (33).
The former Pahrump Valley High 2015 state wrestling champ graduated from basic training as a U.S. Airman with honors at Lackland Air Force Base in San Antonio, Texas.
