Balloon festival, carnival prepared for weekend

Crews with Pahrump’s Davis Amusements arrived at Petrack Park to begin setting up the carnival portion of this weekend’s Pahrump Balloon Festival.

The carnival opens today at 4 p.m. On Saturday and Sunday, the carnival is scheduled for an 8 a.m. opening.

Weather permitting, the balloons will go aloft at 7 a.m. beginning today, throughout the weekend.

Admission to the park is free.
