Chamber cancels Shop Local Expo in Pahrump, planning for 2018

The Pahrump Valley Chamber of Commerce has canceled its Shop Local Expo event, which was scheduled to begin on Friday.

The two-day event had been scheduled for Nov. 3-4 at the Pahrump Nugget Convention Hall at 681 S. Highway 160.

Donna Corey, event coordinator at the Pahrump Valley Chamber of Commerce, said chamber is looking to reschedule the event for 2018. The event was designed to put local businesses in the public eye and to give them a platform to sell their products and services during the show.

Corey said the chamber is working to have the rescheduled event take place at Pahrump Valley High School “where there will be more room for vendors,” she said in an email.

The canceled venue had space rental options starting at $50 and went up to $150. Sponsorship opportunities were also available.

The Pahrump chamber of commerce is also planning for its 20th annual Biz &Home Expo, which is scheduled to occur in April 2018 at the Pahrump Nugget.

That venue offers a chance for banks, insurance and real estate companies and other businesses a chance to “to provide information for the public,” Corey said.

For more information, contact the Pahrump chamber at 775-727-5800.
