Death of suspect during Beatty arrest under investigation
BEATTY - The death of a man soon after the Nye County Sheriff's deputies placed him under arrest is under investigation.
Police responded on Aug. 14 in Beatty to a report of a subject out of control, according to the Sheriff's Office.
Upon arrival of paramedics, the man began throwing rocks at them. According to police, when deputies took the subject into custody, they noticed he was in "medical distress" and turned him over to medical personnel.
He subsequently was pronounced deceased in the ambulance.
No further information, including the name of the deceased or the officers involved, is being released at this time pending an investigation.
