Head of UMC stepping down

University Medical Center Chief Executive Officer Lawrence Barnard is leaving his post, the Review-Journal has learned.

Barnard was appointed as interim CEO in January to replace Brian Brannman, who had resigned for a vice president job with Dignity Health-St. Rose Dominican, which has three Las Vegas Valley hospitals.

Barnard started at UMC in August 2012 and was the public hospital’s chief operating officer before ascending to the top position.

This is a developing story. Check back for updates.
