Nye authorities seek information on missing man

The search continued this week for a missing Pahrump man.

The Nye County Sheriff’s Office is requesting the public’s assistance in locating the man, identified as Juan Bautista-Urrea, age 73.

He was last seen leaving Desert View Hospital in his vehicle, a silver Honda Ridgeline, at 9:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 6.

The license plate of the vehicle is 89E-683.

The car also displays a “AAA” sticker on its rear bumper.

According to the Nye County Sheriff’s Office, Bautista-Urrea is approximately 5 feet 6 inches tall and weighs approximately 160 pounds.

He has gray hair and speaks little English, a news release indicated.

Bautista-Urrea was last seen wearing a blue short-sleeved shirt, a red jacket with white stripes and denim blue jeans.

In recent days, crews from the Southern Nye County Search and Rescue team have conducted a search of several areas for Bautista-Urrea but were unable to locate the man.

Nye County Sheriff’s Office detectives are investigating the disappearance, along with surrounding law enforcement agencies.

Sheriff’s deputies are also asking the public to be on the lookout for Bautista-Urrea.

Anyone who may have seen or come into contact with him is urged to call Nye County Sheriff’s Office dispatch at 775-751-7000, option 5.
