Nye County Sheriff Office personnel recently were lauded for their outstanding professionalism and service to the community.

At an event in late August, Sheriff Sharon Wehrly presented Deputy Christina Sandoval with the Officer of the Year award from the sheriff’s office.

The Pahrump Elks Lodge played host to the event Aug. 19 at its facility off Basin Avenue.

Officials with the Pahrump Elks Lodge honored personnel with the Nye County Sheriff’s Office for the outstanding and dedicated service they provide to the community.

To show their thanks, the Elks held a law enforcement appreciation night.
