Wireless network outage planned for Pahrump

Valley Communications Association will conduct a scheduled software upgrade Thursday on its wireless network with members told to anticipate an outage lasting about 30-to-90 minutes between 2 a.m. and 6 a.m.

Broadband customers in southeast Pahrump (Artesia and Mountain Falls) will be affected, Valley said.

Broadband customers should only experience one brief outage, said Nate Johnson, executive vice president of broadband and IT communications.

The network improvements will allow VCA to deliver Internet television service (IPTV) and other digital services. The TV service is expected to be available to current broadband customers by mid-summer.

“By performing these important upgrades during the early morning hours, we hope that the fewest number of customers will be inconvenienced,” Johnson said.
