Last year, the Pahrump Valley High School baseball team had to go through the losers bracket at the Class 3A Southern Region Tournament to reach the state tournament. After Wednesday’s game against Boulder City, the Trojans will have to do it again, this time playing one more game along the way.
Sometimes everybody gets a trophy, and sometimes everybody qualifies for the state tournament.
Dennis Andersen of Pahrump went 4-0 in Class A to capture the tournament championship Saturday at the Best in the West Horseshoes Tournament at Petrack Park in Pahrump.
Cassondra Lauver knows her team can hit, so the Pahrump Valley High School softball coach wasn’t particularly concerned when visiting Boulder City took a quick 2-0 lead in the top of the first inning Wednesday in a Class 3A Southern Region Tournament winners bracket semifinal.
