Tribe motorcycle club hits the road again for kids

The response from last weekend’s Tribe Motorcycle Club Toy Run was so great, it’s happening once again on Sunday.

Red Pillman said hundreds of toys, including bicycles were given to local families who otherwise would not have much of anything to enjoy on Christmas morning, except the spirit of the holiday.

“There were four trucks and about 20 cars behind them,” Pillman said. “It began at 10 a.m., till about 7:30 that evening, so we did some of it in the dark. We had 34 families, but we’re going to cut it in half next year. We’ll do 28 or so the first week and 28 the next weekend.”

The 9:30 a.m., run will begin at Oasis Outreach Seventh-Day Adventist church at 1061 Second St.

For 25 years, members of the Tribe Motorcycle Club have volunteered their time to participate in the event to deliver toys and food to local families, who are selected by various different organizations and word of mouth.

Above, volunteers included Pahrump Valley High wrestlers Jax and Jace Clayton, middle, who helped load bikes and other toys for the first run.
