Autumn Fest Tea thank you

I’d like to take this opportunity to thank everyone for attending our Autumn Fest Tea. There are no words to express how very grateful I am to all of you who helped make our tea such a success. It was such a joyful afternoon to share with so many of you.

I would like to extend a special “thank you” to Patti and Kathy and all the models from Sunflower Fashions for putting on such a great fashion show.

Special thanks also to Town Board member Bill Dolan for braving a room full of females to be part of the festivities, to the Ms. Senior Golden Years Pageant family for sharing the afternoon with us, and to the members of Desert Greens for joining us and allowing us to use your beautiful facility.

Thank you ever so much to an amazing group of women who have so graciously come together to organize the tea. It’s been wonderful for me to see all this coming together as each person played her part to fit all the pieces together. It’s like choreographing with each person taking a piece and putting it all together to create a beautiful dance.

Thank you to the Ms. Senior Nye County Pageant family for donating all of your valuable time and all the hard work that went into putting this event together. It is truly a blessing for me to be a part of this group.

Correction to flash mob challenge letter

Heather Edwards is the eighth grader issuing the challenge for people of all ages to attend her Christmas flash mob. She is the same person who is hostess to her “Kids Performing for Kids” party at the Nugget, (which will be Sat., March 15, 2014 at noon and will be her third annual.)

I am Debbie Dwelle, who submitted the flash mob letter to the last issue of PV Times newspaper. I am not the one issuing the challenge, but I didn’t make that clear, sorry!

I am not a young whippersnapper but I will be at the “flash mob”! The community is invited and not just “whippersnappers” who must call this a “flash mob”, when clearly it is Christmas caroling at its best. I will be in Albertsons parking lot at 7 p.m., on Thursday, Dec. 5 near Denny’s having a fabulous time singing “Jingle Bells”, “We Wish You a Merry Christmas”, and “Silent Night” for my fun, and not for neighbors, who, for the most part don’t want you there and where most singing participants lose interest soon after they begin. This flash mob experience will only include three songs and will disassemble before interest can be lost or before one can get freezing cold from the December temperatures. There won’t be enough time to need the hot chocolate!

All Christmas carolers, let’s crash this “flash mob” and show them how it’s done!
