Nevada group wins national for affordable housing program

The Nevada Rural Housing Authority is the winner of the Single-Family Excellence award in recognition of the Home At Last program, officials announced.

This marks the third year in a row that the agency received recognition from National Association of Local Housing Finance Agencies, and twice for its successful efforts to serve homebuyers in rural Nevada.

The Home At Last program is renowned as a national leader, implementing innovative access to credit solutions that allow low to moderate-income families to experience homeownership, often for the first time.

Programs include educational workshops, downpayment assistance up to $22,655, closing cost grants of $1,500 or $2,500, mortgage credit certificates, and the “HAL Pals” free pet adoption program for new homeowners.

The robust number of program options include exclusive features for veterans and multiple enhancements tailored for rural homebuyers.
