Pahrump Senior Center

The menu (subject to change) and activities for the week of Nov. 14 – Nov. 18. Two percent milk and juice available daily:

Monday – Lemon pepper chicken, creamed peas, baked beans, salad, fruit cup, ice cream, soup;

Tuesday — Apple-smothered pork chop, stuffing, carrots, salad, peach crisp, northern bean soup;

Wednesday — Swiss steak, egg noodles, mixed veggies, spinach salad, whole wheat bread, apple, soup;

Thursday — Chicken pot pie, Caesar salad, carrot sticks, peach cup, black-eyed pea soup;

Friday – Sloppy joe w/whole wheat bun, peas and carrots, celery sticks, apple crisp, soup.

Activities

Monday — Exercise class, 9:30 a.m.; beading class, 12:30 p.m.; poker, 12:30 p.m.;

Tuesday — Exercise class, 9:30 a.m.; bridge, 12:30 p.m.; haircuts, 1-3 p.m.;

Wednesday — Senior Dimensions open enrollment, 10 a.m.; Crafty Ladies, 12:30 p.m.;

Thursday — Men’s Club breakfast, 7-9 a.m.; Exercise class, 9:30 a.m.; Rippits (knitting/crocheting), 10:30 a.m.; haircuts, 1-3 p.m.;

Friday — T.O.P.S. meeting, 7-9 a.m.; exercise class, 9:30 a.m.; Humana open enrollment, 10 a.m.; S.H.I.P, 10 a.m.; bridge, 12:30 p.m.

Amargosa Valley Senior Center

The menu (subject to change) for the week of Nov. 14 – Nov. 18:

Two percent milk available daily. Meals are served at the Amargosa Valley Senior Center from 4:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. Breakfast served from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m.

Monday — Honey mustard chicken, steamed rice, Brussel sprouts, three-bean salad, fresh apple;

Tuesday — Baked pork chop, mashed sweet potatoes, steamed green beans, mixed green salad, low-fat French dressing, banana pudding and fresh orange, whole wheat bread;

Wednesday — Turkey fajita, Spanish rice, ranch-style beans, pineapple chunks;

Thursday — Beef stroganoff and noodles, baked acorn squash, plums, orange spinach salad, whole wheat roll, apple butter;

Friday — Pancakes, scrambled eggs, fresh fruit in season, oatmeal, orange juice.

Beatty Senior Center

The menu (subject to change) for the week of Nov. 14 – Nov. 18:

Two percent milk available. Meals are served at the Beatty Senior Center from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., on Tuesday and Thursday.

Tuesday — Baked pork chop, mashed sweet potatoes, steamed green beans, mixed green salad, low-fat French dressing, banana pudding and fresh orange, whole wheat bread;

Thursday — Beef stroganoff and noodles, baked acorn squash, plums, orange spinach salad, whole wheat roll, apple butter.

To mark the solemn occasion, three local organizations hosted Memorial Day ceremonies, with the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post #10054 celebrating at its venue while the Disabled American Veterans Chapter #15 and the Pahrump Veterans Memorial Advisory Committee both opted to utilize the Veterans Memorial site for their commemorations.
