Cooler temps, rain chances on the way
After the valley experienced a pleasant week of weather, changes are on the way to bring things back down to normal.
The National Weather Service said a cool down is on the way beginning Friday morning, dropping temperatures that will top out near 70 degrees for the next couple of days by almost 20 degrees.
"Middle to upper 60s are expected in Pahrump Wednesday and Thursday, then heading into the weekend we have a cold front that will move through and temperatures are going to drop pretty good," National Weather Service meteorologist Mike Paddock said.
High temperatures will be 68 degrees Wednesday and 67 degrees Thursday, dropping to 53 degrees on Saturday.
With the cold front, there is also a chance for wet weather, as precipitation chances across Pahrump will be there by week's end.
"We have slight chances of rain in the forecast late Thursday night into Friday morning," Paddock said.
Overnight lows will drop from the lower 40s, to the low 30s for the weekend, bringing back freezing conditions. High temperatures will be in the upper 40s, with low temps in the mid-to-upper-20s as the work week begins.
