Suspicious vehicle report leads to DUI arrest

Brook Redington was jailed on July 23 and faces preliminary charges of driving under the influence and open container in vehicle after deputies with the Nye County Sheriff's Office were dispatched to a report of a suspicious vehicle in the area of Blosser Ranch and David roads.

When deputies arrived, they reportedly discovered that a red Ford Mustang was on the side of the road with the engine running and there was a female in the driver's seat. The driver was later identified as Redington. As deputies looked inside the vehicle, they could see that the vehicle was still in drive and Redington had an open beer in her hand.

According to the arrest report, after deputies were able to wake Redington, they reportedly observed numerous signs and symptoms of her possibly being under the influence of alcohol. After deputies had Redington perform field sobriety tests, they reported she failed them all.

Redington was arrested, transported to the Nye County Detention Center and booked and held on $1,537 bail. While at the jail, Redington reportedly submitted to an evidentiary breath test which resulted in readings of .223 percent and .234 percent, respectively.

Traffic stop results in drug arrest

Klayton Bourke was arrested on July 29 and faces a preliminary charge of possession of a dangerous drug without a prescription after deputies conducted a traffic stop at the intersection of Basin and Linda roads.

Deputies subsequently identified Bourke as one of the passengers in the vehicle and conducted a records check which revealed Bourke to have three active warrants out of the Nye County Sheriff's Office.

Deputies immediately arrested Bourke and a subsequent search of his person revealed that he was in possession of a pill bottle with 59 unknown pills. Deputies noted in the arrest report that the pills were in an unmarked bottle with the label scratched off.

Bourke was transported to the jail, booked and held on $5,500 bail.

The pills were identified as controlled substances only obtained with a doctor's prescription.

Man jailed for domestic battery

Anthony James Williams was arrested on July 25 and faces a preliminary charge of domestic battery after deputies responded to a report of a domestic disturbance at a residence on East Turner Boulevard.

As deputies were responding, they reportedly received an update from dispatch that the reporting party had received a text message from the victim stating that she had been physically battered by her boyfriend, identified as Williams.

When deputies made contact with the victim, she reportedly said that Williams had pushed her in the chest with both hands, causing her face to hit the refrigerator.

As deputies spoke with the victim, they noted in the arrest report that they could see a small bruise on the victim's face.

When deputies spoke with Williams about what had occurred, he reportedly said that he and the victim had gotten into a verbal altercation about going to Las Vegas and he became angry and pushed the victim.

Williams was arrested, transported to the jail, booked and held on $3,000 bail.
