BUSINESS: General Manager Saitta-Trudeau Chrysler-Jeep-Dodge

BACKGROUND: “I’ve been in the car sales industry most of my life operating in either a sales or management capacity in and around Saratoga, N.Y.”
FIRST JOB: “I went to work right out of high school as an apprentice New York State Bridge Inspector. I did that until the winter cold season got to be too much.”
YEARS IN BUSINESS: “I have lived in Pahrump for five years and worked for Saitta-Trudeau for five years. This company supports and sponsors everything. We just made a contribution to Pahrump Open Schooling Shows. We are members of the Chamber of Commerce and just sponsored the Miss Pahrump Pageant. We’ve supported all the charity organizations and Trojan sports over the years. And Tom Saitta has the Pahrump Valley Youth Activities organization which provides a learning experience and something for the kids to do while school is out.”
PERSONAL: “I spend a lot of my time working and when I’m not here, I’m spending time with the wife and kids. We like to barbecue and entertain friends. We have horses and the kids were into barrel racing in New York.”
BUSINESS CLIMATE: “The best thing people can do for the local economy is shop here and keep the money here. It’s a small community and businesses have to give good service to build loyalty. I’ve never been in a dealership where you can do that. Bigger cities just don’t have the time or manpower to make the commitment. I think Chrysler made a good decision making all the parts from the Chrysler and Dodge lines interchangeable down to the water pump. The only thing they change is horsepower to match the weight of the vehicle. It’s more cost-effective for them and for the consumer.”
