Pair of weather systems to bring windy conditions, fluctuate temperatures over weekend

Breezy conditions will return this weekend, along with a pair weather systems that will fluctuate high temperatures over the next several days.

The National Weather Service said that a system will move into the area today, with wind speeds picking up to over 30 mph by the afternoon.

“We have a couple of weather systems that are going to move through (in the next week), with the first one bringing windy conditions Friday,” said Reid Wolcott, National Weather Service meteorologist. “We’ll have gusts Friday afternoon in the upper 30s and as high as 40 miles per hour.”

The winds will calm down come Saturday, but the temperatures will drop from a high temperature of 85 degrees today to a high of 73 Saturday.

After the brief cool down, temperatures will rebound some Sunday, topping out at 81 degrees before another system rolls in dropping the temperatures once again for Monday.

“We have another system coming in Sunday night that will also increase the winds again, so another windy day on Sunday,” Walcott said.

With the system coming in Sunday a brief shot for precipitation presents itself Monday, but only a 20 percent chance. Besides the chance of rain, temperatures will remain slightly below the 78-degree average for this time of year.

“It will be cool and unsettled with occasional breezes for the early part of next week,” he said.

High temperatures will reach 73 degrees on Monday and 74 degrees on Tuesday, then will be closer to average for Wednesday with a forecast high of 77 degrees.
