The Hornets are having a decent season under new coach James Robertson. Beatty (4-2 overall, 2-2 Division IV Southern) is coming off a big win against the Knights (4-2, 2-2) last week, beating them 46-14.

Girls Golf Girls finish third; young talent looking promising

The Lady Trojans had their first home league match of the season last Thursday at Mountain Falls. The team finished third out of four teams.

Strip club sold to Utah-based group

The Pahrump Valley Times confirmed this week that the Kingdom Gentleman’s Club, along with several other parcels of land at Highway 160 and Homestead Road was recently sold to a party out of Utah for $1 million.

Master plan update goes back to RPC

Nye County Commissioners Tuesday sent revisions to the Pahrump master plan back to the Pahrump Regional Planning Commission with orders to bring it back in 75 days.

Builder Rene Morales’ dreams of another Lakeside recreational vehicle park were shot down by Nye County Commissioners Tuesday who upheld the Pahrump Regional Planning Commission denial of a conditional use permit for a three-acre artificial lake.

Sheriff gets OK to spend sales tax increase money

The Nye County Sheriff’s Department got a little more beefed up Tuesday, after county commissioners approved most of Sheriff Tony DeMeo’s plan to spend his half of the half-cent sales tax increase that took effect April 1.

A proposal to limit visitors in recreational vehicle parks to a maximum stay of up to 28 days before they have to move, got as much traction as a flat tire, at the Pahrump Regional Planning Commission meeting last Wednesday.

The Trojans fell to 0-3 after losing to the Clark Chargers on Friday afternoon, 3-2. Clark was one of the conference leaders last year and came to Pahrump positive they would win.

First business networking event set for Sept. 26

A young, local business owner has taken it upon herself to invite other businesses to join in what Elizabeth Larson calls the “Last Friday Business Network,” an event set for the last Friday of each month. The first event will be at 6:30 p.m., Sept. 26 at Draft Picks.

Cross Country teams running hard against top talent

The cross country team had two meets last week. On Wednesday they had a Sunset League meet at Village Green in Las Vegas and then went to a power-packed invitational at Red Rock. The boys and girls both finished in third at the league match. For the boys, Clark was first with Faith Lutheran in second. Chase Wood had the fastest time for the boys, finishing 17:45 and Filmon Fre for Clark finished second with a time of 17:46.
