The Beatty football team clobbered visiting Beaver Dam last Friday 78-34 in league action.
Hornets coach James Robertson said he was more than happy with his team’s play.
“Our team had a well-balanced attack with our QB (Nick) Zamora throwing for 184-yards passing,” he said.
The Hornets did well rushing the ball too. Jhonpaul Adujar rushed for 78 yards and had 4 TDs.
Mike Olson had 153-yards rushing on four kickoff returns with 2 TDs. He also had a 40-yard reception. Ryan Ortiz had 114 yards, 1 TD and five receptions. He also had a fumble recovery for a TD.
Beatty plays today against Round Mountain at 3 p.m. Robertson said they run a similar offense to his own.
“They have a fullback and a tailback and like to play some play-action pass like us,” the coach said. “It’s like playing a mirror team.”
The Hornets (2-4 overall, 1-3 Division IV Southern) had a rough start to conference play and hope to capture a playoff spot. They need to beat Round Mountain (2-4, 1-3), who is coming off a horrible loss to Tonopah, 60-14. Beatty beat Round Mountain last year but the QB does like to pass a lot and has 600 yards passing this year.
