On August 17 Pahrump resident and senior citizen, Gary Miller, 66, took first place in six dances in two divisions at the M Resort in the Nevada Ball DanceSport Championships.

Miller then traveled to Europe and competed in the European World Cup Powerlifting Championships held in Turkey and Finland. He set two world records in the Men’s Masters Division for the 127-pound division in the deadlift when he deadlifted 363 pounds.

“That was 18 pounds shy of three times my body weight,” he said.
