Services remembering our fallen veterans

Three ceremonies will be held over the holiday to honor veterans who gave their lives in the military. Scattered services will be held at the Pahrump Valley Senior Center and Chief Tecopa Cemetery.

The first service is scheduled for 10:30 a.m. at the Senior Center. The JROTC will present colors and conduct the annual retiring of the flag. Organizer Don McIntosh said there will be a brief service and the raising of the new flag. Lunch will be provided for all veterans.

Memorial Day is May 26 and the Marine Corps League will hold its service beginning at 10:30 a.m., at the Veterans Memorial at Chief Tecopa Cemetery. There will be presentations and a ceremony to honor fallen military members.

The Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 10054 will also hold a service at 10 a.m. May 30, which is the actual Memorial Day. It is also scheduled to take place at Chief Tecopa Cemetery.

The Pahrump Nugget Gold Miner’s Buffet will offer a two-for-one buffet beginning at noon, May 26, for veterans and their families.

Gold Town will have a $5.99 buffet open to everyone in celebration of the holiday.

Albertson’s Grocery is offering discounts on groceries to those who have or are serving in the military.
