Business park looking to build on momentum

A local business park is looking at expanding its client base, attempting to capitalize on traffic driven in by the newly opened Terrible’s Road House casino.

The CV7 Commerce Association business park off Pahrump Valley and Calvada boulevards, is already home to several businesses, including Terrible’s, but revitalization efforts on and around the site are being made in hopes of attracting new businesses to the complex.

“Now that Terrible’s came on it’s a new look over there,” said Pat Rogers, part owner of CV7 Commerce Association. “We want to let people know there’s more than just a saloon there and there’s more to look for, with the growth area.”

The company, that is also mulling over a new name for the site which was recently repaved and striped, has several lots available for purchasing and building. With the area growing the association plans to open a new access road which will enable more lots for constructing new business sites and spurring future growth.

“There’s a lot going in in the association and it’s growing and we’d like to get a little knowledge out there that we’re growing,” said Russ Rogers, part owner of the association.

There are 10 other businesses in addition to Terrible’s which include a vast array of categories, ranging from a pub, a florist, welfare services and health care providers, making the shopping area one of the more diverse in town.

All businesses pay a monthly fee to the association, and that goes toward any kind of maintenance work any of the businesses might need done at a given time.

“There’s dues every month and they do fixing up, like I said they just put in the parking lot,” Pat Rogers said.

Those interested are urged to take advantage of the opportunities now, as lower real estate prices, paired with the improving economy make now an ideal time to start a new business in a centrally-located area of town.
