Special party celebrates 60th anniversary
Donald and Alma Stroup will be celebrating their 60th wedding anniversary with a private party in Pahrump on June 27, 2013.
They met as high school freshman in Mishawaka, Ind., and exchanged wedding vows on June 27, 1953, at Sunnymede Brethren Church, in South Bend, Ind. Pastor Russel Ogden performed the ceremony.
They have enjoyed their life together and had many adventures including spending time with their children, Faith Slusher of Lebec, Calif., Melody Hunter of Edwardsburg, Mich., David Stroup of South Bend, Dawn Maxon of Elk Grove, Calif., and their nine grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild.
The couple settled in Pahrump after moving from Canyon Country, Calif., in 1996 and attended Choice Hills Baptist Church for eight years until they moved to Lodi, Calif., in 2004.
