Pahrump Senior Center

The menu (subject to change) and activities for the week of: Dec. 28– Jan. 1. Two percent milk and juice available daily:

Monday — taco salad, refried beans, Mexicorn, rice pudding, soup;

Tuesday — spaghetti and meatballs, squash, yogurt, soup;

Wednesday — tuna noodle casserole, Normandy veggies, cookies, soup;

Thursday — breaded shrimp, angel hair pasta, Brussel sprouts, cupcakes, soup;

Friday – CLOSED – HAPPY NEW YEAR.

 

Activities

Monday — exercise class, 9:30 a.m.; haircuts, 9 a.m.; beading class, 12:30 p.m.; poker, 12:30 p.m.;

Tuesday — exercise class, 9:30 a.m.; bridge, 12:30 p.m.; bunco, 12:30 p.m.;

Wednesday — Crafty Ladies, 12:30 p.m.;

Thursday — New Year's Eve toast and memoriam, 11 a.m.;

Friday — CLOSED – HAPPY NEW YEAR.

 

Amargosa Valley Senior Center

The menu (subject to change) for the week of Dec. 28 – Jan. 1

Two percent milk available daily. Meals are served at the Amargosa Valley Senior Center from 4:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. Breakfast served from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m.

Monday — cheese enchiladas, Spanish rice, black beans, steamed green beans, vanilla sundae surprise, peaches;

Tuesday — spaghetti with meat sauce, baked squash, colorful salad, garlic toast, strawberry/banana yogurt;

Wednesday — BBQ ribs, baked beans, steamed broccoli, biscuit with honey, pears;

Thursday — lemon baked fish, parsley potatoes, zucchini, Waldorf salad, whole wheat roll, melon.;

Friday — CLOSED – HAPPY NEW YEAR.

 

Beatty Senior Center

The menu (subject to change) for the week of Dec. 28 – Jan. 1

Two percent milk available daily. Meals are served at the Beatty Senior Center from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

Monday — pork roast, roasted vegetables, whole wheat roll, applesauce, pears;

Tuesday — ham and egg breakfast burrito, oatmeal, yogurt, banana, apple juice;

Wednesday — turkey chili, cornbread, mixed green salad with Italian dressing, ambrosia;

Thursday — shepherd's pie, corn, whole wheat roll, apple crisp;

Friday — CLOSED – HAPPY NEW YEAR.

Gone but not forgotten: How Pahrump marked Memorial Day

To mark the solemn occasion, three local organizations hosted Memorial Day ceremonies, with the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post #10054 celebrating at its venue while the Disabled American Veterans Chapter #15 and the Pahrump Veterans Memorial Advisory Committee both opted to utilize the Veterans Memorial site for their commemorations.
