Desert View Hospital to host annual golf tournament March 4

It's almost that time of year again to grab your clubs and hit the links for a good cause.

Desert View Hospital will host its third annual charity golf tournament on Friday, March 4 at Mountain Falls Golf Club for the Desert View Hospital Foundation, a nonprofit that benefits students in the Pahrump Valley.

In conjunction with the Rural Healthcare Foundation, the Desert View Hospital Foundation provides educational scholarships for students in the Pahrump community who wish to pursue an education in health care.

The event is being sponsored by Mercy Air (which is this year's title sponsor), Comfort Hospice Care, Valley Health Systems, Health Care Partners of Nevada and Central Valley Medical Center.

"I am so pleased that we are approaching our third annual foundation golf tournament and it has proven to be a great success over the years," said Michelle Hinds, Marketing Director for Desert View Hospital. "We hope this year's event proves to be our most successful in the history of the foundation and in turn, allow us to continue to provide scholarships for students in our community. A big thank you to all the sponsors involved in this year's event and for making it all possible. Together we are helping to make a difference and working for a great cause."

A continental breakfast at the course will kick off the event along with registration, which both begin at 7 a.m., followed by a shotgun start at 8:30 a.m.

Participants are able to enter various competitions held in conjunction with the tournament for prizes, including the hole-in-one challenge that features a $100,000 prize, longest drive competition, along with a 50/50 raffle and closest to the pin contests. In addition to the on-course contests, there will also be plenty of raffles for participants to enjoy.

Following the tournament, there will be an award ceremony and recognition luncheon to conclude the event.
