Precipitation chances return for weekend after wet April

As the weekend approaches, another shot for rain in the Pahrump Valley comes along with it.

The National Weather Service said that an incoming weather system from the west will bring rain chances for the next three days.

“We have a Pacific system coming in from Southern California which will be in place through Sunday, which will bring a chance for some weather here,” said John Adair, National Weather Service meteorologist.

The best chance for rain in town is today, with the shot at precipitation dropping as the weekend progresses.

There is a 40 percent chance of rain today, with the chance of precipitation falling to 30 percent tonight. Saturday and Sunday, a 20 percent chance of rain remains for both days, with isolated showers lingering around as the weather system exits the area.

Highs will range vastly over the next week as the high today will be 69 degrees, with the temperature steadily rising, topping out Wednesday at 91 degrees.

Lows will vary from 52 degrees tonight to 60 degrees Tuesday night.

April’s rain total was above average with 1.02 inches for the month.
