Shadow Mountain Players perform in Tecopa

With the cooler weather, Tecopa Hot Springs Resort is waking from the summertime slumber and beginning to host events in the art gallery and on the property beside Pastel’s Bistro.

This first fall event is set for 7 p.m. Saturday on the outdoor stage. The Shadow Mountain Players will present “Money in the Bank or … It’s All Your Vault,” by M.K. O’Roark. The play is the sad tale of a missing bank owner, J. P. Moneylender of the Last Territorial Bank and Telegraph Company. He is presumed dead. His sweet, young daughter Marion and her step-mother Hilregard Moneylender have taken over the running of the bank, despite collection notices from rival banker, dastardly Smedley Chetum and his gal Selina Eyeful.

The play was staged at the Wild West Extravaganza last weekend and if you missed it, here is your chance. Tickets are $5 for adults, children under 12 get in free.

Pastel’s Bistro will be open for dinner.

The stargazing parties will begin again at the end of this month.

Oct. 26, Tecopa Hot Springs Resort will host the Southern Inyo Fire Protection District’s annual bazaar. There will be raffles for a handmade quilt and other donated items such as gift certificates, travel packages and a zip-line adventure package over Bootleg Canyon.

There will also be live music throughout the day, food and craft vendors and a fireman’s fashion show.
