Pahrump fundraiser for high school rodeo club
It costs $16,000 roughly to put on a high school rodeo. and that’s something the Pahrump Valley High School rodeo club members have had to raise themselves.
To get things going, Erin Hubbell and Andrea McGuire of the Hubb have decided to donate some space for the team to raise money.
The Trojans rodeo director, Buddy Krebs said the Hubb Bar and Grill, 3720 W. Bell Vista Ave. is letting his team use the back of the property from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. on April 8 for a fundraiser for the rodeo club.
“We will have a big raffle, food and the Reeves Brothers will be playing music,” Krebs said. “Businesses from all over Pahrump have donated prizes for the raffle.”
According to Krebs, the event is giving away some golf outings for two at Mountain Falls, CCW classes from the Master at Arms and they are even giving away some fireworks packages from Black Jack Fireworks.
The Reeves Brothers are a country band and they call themselves the Butch and Sundance of country music.
Krebs said he doesn’t expect to raise all the money needed in one event.
“I will be happy if we just raise $5,000,” he said. “At this point, we have time to raise the money. He said the schedule is still being decided and so the date for the next year’s Pahrump rodeo has not been set.
He said the food is being provided by Eric Web, who is donating his cooking skills to the cause. Web is famous for “Bigs Hamburgers” and just great food.
The rodeo director also stressed that the kids can come because the event will not be inside the bar, but in the back of the property outside.
The event will also have some games for kids along with a horseshoe tournament. For donations and more information, please contact Krebs at 775-764-1378.
