Last museum lecture Saturday
The Pahrump Valley Museum and Historical Society will host its last lecture for 2013 at 1 p.m., Saturday, Nov. 9, 2013 with Dora McKeever.
McKeever is an Interpretive Park Ranger for Mojave National Preserve. She was born in Blyth, Calif., and grew up in Southern California where she spent part of her childhood in the Mojave Desert.
While attending school in San Diego, McKeever began her career as a Park Ranger in the Cuyamaca Mountains. She will be speaking on the way of life for tortoises that inhabit the Mojave Desert and what you can expect to find in the vast Mojave National Preserve.
The lecture will be held at the Pahrump Valley Museum, 401 E. Basin Ave., and admission is free. For more information, call 775-751-1970, Tuesday through Sunday, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
