Longtime Pahrump community supporter Alice Eychaner off to Tennessee

Several dozen family and friends turned out to say goodbye to longtime Pahrump resident Alice Eychaner this month.

Members of the Pahrump Moose Lodge hosted a farewell party on Saturday, Aug. 12, at their 1100 Second St. location.

For many years, Eychaner was well known within the community for her organizing the annual Bob Baker Wild West Extravaganza in Pahrump, as well as working closely with the Pahrump Chamber of Commerce on numerous community events, including the annual Baker, California to Las Vegas law enforcement relay race.

Eychaner was surrounded by family, close friends and associates throughout the farewell party, complete with a buffet-style meal prepared and served up by members of the Women of the Moose.

Jim Cornell, a one-year trustee of the Pahrump Moose Lodge and community service chairman, has known Eychaner for more than 20 years.

Cornell helped to organize the event.

“It was a great turnout considering the fact that there was a donation party at the VFW that same evening for a bartender who has stage three cervical cancer,” Cornell said. “Alice has already left Nevada. She left Monday at 7 p.m., where she spent the night in Las Vegas, and arrived at her new home in Tennessee. She will be sorely missed and she has done so much for this community.”
