Nye County District Attorney’s report

The public information below was provided by the Nye County District Attorney’s office.

• Lori Busbee was charged on Aug. 4 with child abuse or neglect, a felony; and driving under the influence of alcohol, having open container of alcoholic beverage within passenger area of motor vehicle while on highway; drinking alcoholic beverage while driving motor vehicle; failure to maintain lane; and operating motor vehicle without registration or plate, all misdemeanors.

• Michael Carlson Campbell was charged on Aug. 10 with possession of a controlled substance, a felony.

• Douglas Allen Varin was charged on Aug. 15 with bomb threats prohibited, a felony; and disturbing the peace, a misdemeanor.

• Chad Alan Berkness was charged on Aug. 16 with throwing substance at or willfully damaging bicycle or motor vehicle, loss of $5,000 or more, a felony; and throwing substance at or willfully damaging bicycle or motor vehicle, loss of $250 to $5,000, a gross misdemeanor.

• Melocka Lynn Williams was charged on Aug. 10 with burglary, a felony; and petit larceny, a misdemeanor.

• Robin Faith Gavan aka Robin Faith O’Donald aka Robin Faith Horton was charged on Aug. 13 with aggravated driving under the influence of intoxicating liquor or controlled or prohibited substance thereby causing substantial bodily harm to another, a felony, and child endangerment; unlawful trespass upon land and petit larceny, all misdemeanors.

• Larry Russell Fielding was charged on Aug. 11 with obstructing a public officer, a misdemeanor.

• Keith Joseph Coppock was charged on Aug. 11 with domestic battery, second offense, a misdemeanor.

• Colton Ray Sanderson was charged on Aug. 14 with failure to appear after admission to bail, a misdemeanor.

• Lucas Marshall Partain was charged on Aug. 15 with obstructing a public officer, a misdemeanor.

• Philycia Storm was charged on Aug. 15 with false representation by minor to obtain liquor and obstructing a public officer, both misdemeanors.

• Lester Weaver was charged on Aug. 15 with petit larceny and unlawful trespass upon land, both misdemeanors.

• Calvin Beasley Jr., was charged on Aug. 15 with harassment, a misdemeanor.

• Robert Polk was charged on Aug. 18 with battery, a misdemeanor.

More than two dozen animals rescued from Pahrump home

More than two dozen animals living under what’s described as “horrendous conditions” were recently rescued after being discovered by Nye County Animal Control officers at a Pahrump home.
