HealthCare Partners delivers turkeys to Senior Center meal

Those attending the Pahrump Senior Center’s annual Thanksgiving meal today will be treated to turkey and pumpkin pie thanks to HealthCare Partners of Nevada who donated the traditional holiday staples for the event.

Representatives of the physician group delivered 30 turkeys and 45 pumpkin pies to the Senior Center Friday to help feed the more than 220 people expected to attend the holiday lunch and provide meals for the meals on wheels program as well.

This is the second year in a row HealthCare Partners has donated turkeys and pies to the Senior Center for the annual Thanksgiving meal. Last year the group gave approximately 20 to 25 turkeys and 30 pies to the Pahrump Senior Center for the meal.

Liam MacCaul, a spokesperson for HealthCare Partners, said the physician group is just happy to be able to give back to the community.

“We just want to be a part of the community, that’s our number one goal. To make sure we keep Pahrump healthy and happy,” he said.

Anne Blankenship, site manager for the Pahrump Senior Center, added she and her staff were grateful to HealthCare Partners for their support, not only for this event, but for all the other things they have done for the center throughout the year as well.

“From the Senior Center we have to say thanks to HealthCare Partners all year long for all of the support they give us,” she said. “At least once a month and usually twice a month, 15-20 times so far this year, they have purchased lunch for the seniors. Plus the seminars and all the other things they have done for us, they’ve been a great, great supporter of the Senior Center.”

There will be two settings of the Senior Center’s Thanksgiving meal today, one at 11 a.m and one at noon.

For more information about the Senior Center or the meal contact the office at 775-727-5008.

HealthCare Partners would also like the community to know the physician group will be hosting a movie night this week at Saddle West as well. The group plans to show the film “Miracle on 34th Street” Saturday Nov. 30 from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m.

There are only 100 spots available for the showing and reservations can be made in advance by calling HealthCare Partners’ Desert View clinic at 775-751-0695.
