The Pahrump Valley Junior Trojans wrestlers were on the road last weekend and traveled to Richfield, Utah for the Beehive Brawl Nationals. The team sent 18 wrestlers to the competition and the tournament had around 1,300 wrestlers from all over the United States.

Pahrump Valley High School students and staff are mourning the loss of one of their own. Math teacher Steve Craighead passed away last Wednesday evening at home from a heart attack.
The Pahrump Valley Trojans got their first league win of the season as they traveled to Mojave last Thursday on one of the most emotional days the school has encountered. In the final minutes of the game, the Trojans were able to squeak out a win with a couple made free throws and some good defensive stops.
TONOPAH — The Tonopah Convention Center was filled to capacity on Saturday night as close to 500 people had a steak dinner in support of Harvey Gonzalez and his family. Gonzalez was diagnosed with stage IV colon cancer at the end of 2013. He has since had an operation to remove the cancer and plans on starting chemotherapy soon.
ALAMO — It was an epic night for the Tonopah Mucker basketball team. The team achieved their biggest win of the season against Pahranagat Valley High School Panthers by beating them for the first time in 9 years 48-46. The game was played away on Alamo’s court last Friday.
The Lady Hornets basketball team this year was not expected to do much in this building year and yet they keep winning. They toppled the Sandy Valley Sidewinders 37-15 to improve to 3-1 in league and second place behind the Pahranagat Valley Panthers and tied with the Tonopah Muckers.
