KNYE live for donation drive

Karen Jackson of KNYE-Radio will be holding a live broadcast from Wulfy’s seeking donations for the Carpenter One fire clean-up crews.

“I had so many calls from people wanting to do something for the firefighters when they were here,” Jackson said. “No one could do anything for them. It wasn’t allowed.”

Jackson said while the federal government took care of the firefighters, no one is taking care of the volunteer clean-up personnel.

“This is our chance as a community to do something for them.” Jackson said donations of 30- and 55-gallon trash bags, gloves, dust masks, lip balm, sunscreen, water, sports drinks with electrolytes and power bars are needed. She will be at Wulfy’s from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday.

Cash donations are welcome as well and will be used to purchase those needed items.
