New doctor introduced to second Mountain Valley clinic location

Medical care in Pahrump received a boost this week as Desert View Hospital announced two new additions to the healthcare community.

The second Mountain Valley Physicians Group clinic opened its doors Monday at 3370 S. Highway 160, becoming the group’s primary care location. In addition to the new practice, the physicians group introduced a new physician to the team.

Dr. David Rivas began seeing patients as the new clinic opened its doors, bringing over 20 years of experience in the medical field. He joins Dr. Sejal Duggal and Dr. Amit Duggal at the clinic.

Dr. Rivas is board certified in family medicine, meaning he can treat patients from infants all the way up to seniors.

“We are pleased to make this announcement today. Dr. Rivas brings quality medical skills to the Pahrump Valley, from pediatrics to seniors,” said Kelly Adams, Chief Executive Officer at Desert View Hospital. “This new medical office location and future services that will be added will serve the community well.”

With there being just one other pediatrician in town, the addition of Dr. Rivas will offer increased care for children in Pahrump.

After graduating from Western University of Health Sciences, Dr. Rivas completed his residency at Riverside General Hospital University Medical Center in California. His career has taken him throughout the country with stops in Alaska, South Dakota, Missouri, Arizona and Nevada.

Dr. Rivas has worked in the valley before as a physician, so the uniqueness a rural town presents will be nothing new to him.
