Pahrump Senior Center

The menu (subject to change) and activities for the week of Dec. 5 – Dec. 9. Two percent milk and juice available daily:

Monday – Barbecued chicken, baked beans, creamed peas, salad, fruit cup, ice cream, soup;

Tuesday — Chili, cornbread, salad, fruit, soup;

Wednesday — Chicken Tetrazzini, mixed veggies, broccoli salad, whole wheat roll, oatmeal cookie, black bean soup;

Thursday — Pulled pork sandwich, coleslaw, baked beans, green beans, fruit with yogurt, soup;

Friday – Meatloaf, mashed potatoes, spinach, salad w/tomato, whole wheat bread, fruit, soup.

Activities

Monday — Exercise class, 9:30 a.m.; beading class, 12:30 p.m.; poker, 12:30 p.m.;

Tuesday — Exercise class, 9:30 a.m.; bridge, 12:30 p.m.; haircuts, 1-3 p.m.;

Wednesday — Senior Dimensions, 9:30 a.m.; Crafty Ladies, 12:30 p.m.;

Thursday — Exercise class, 9:30 a.m.; Rippets (knitting and crocheting), 10 a.m.; haircuts, 1 p.m.;

Friday — T.O.P.S. meeting, 7 a.m.; exercise class, 9:30 a.m.; bridge, 12:30 p.m.

Amargosa Valley Senior Center

The menu (subject to change) for the week of Dec. 5 – Dec. 9:

Two percent milk available daily. Meals are served at the Amargosa Valley Senior Center from 4:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. Breakfast served from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m.

Monday — Swedish meatballs, egg noodles, steamed broccoli, peaches;

Tuesday — Chicken and dumplings, green peas, carrot and raisin salad, whole wheat/low sodium crackers, fruit cocktail;

Wednesday — Baked pork chop, herbed noodles, green beans, pears, brownie;

Thursday — Lemon baked fish, whole wheat roll, green peas, long-grain brown rice, tossed salad, creamy Italian dressing, grapes;

Friday — Egg ham and cheese bake, home fries, fresh apple, fresh banana, yogurt, orange juice.

Beatty Senior Center

The menu (subject to change) for the week of Dec. 5 – Dec. 9:

Two percent milk available. Meals are served at the Beatty Senior Center from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., on Tuesday and Thursday.

Tuesday — Chicken and dumplings, green peas, carrot and raisin salad, whole wheat/low sodium crackers, fruit cocktail;

Thursday — Lemon baked fish, whole wheat roll, green peas, long-grain brown rice, tossed salad, creamy Italian dressing, grapes.

To mark the solemn occasion, three local organizations hosted Memorial Day ceremonies, with the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post #10054 celebrating at its venue while the Disabled American Veterans Chapter #15 and the Pahrump Veterans Memorial Advisory Committee both opted to utilize the Veterans Memorial site for their commemorations.
