The menu (subject to change) and activities for the week of Aug. 11 – Aug. 15

2 percent milk and juice available daily:

Monday — stuffed pork chops, mixed veggies, pudding;

Tuesday — open-faced turkey sandwiches, mashed potatoes, green beans, ice cream;

Wednesday — beef enchiladas, Spanish rice, mexicorn, churros;

Thursday — chicken/bacon/lasagna roll, Normandy veggies, fruit cup;

Friday — stuffed bell peppers, mixed veggies, ice cream.

Activities

Monday — haircuts, 9 a.m.; exercise class, 10:30 a.m.; poker, 12:30 p.m.; Republican Women meet, 7 p.m.;

Tuesday — exercise class, 10:30 a.m.; bridge, 12:30 p.m.;

Wednesday — shopping day, 9:30 a.m.; Humana, 9:30 a.m.; crafty ladies, 12:30 p.m.;

Thursday — exercise class, 10:30 a.m.;

Friday — exercise class, 10:30 a.m.; bridge, 12:30 p.m.

Amargosa Valley Senior Center

The menu (subject to change) for the week of Aug. 11 – Aug. 15:

2 percent milk available daily. Meals are served at the Amargosa Valley Senior Center from 4 p.m. to 5 p.m. Breakfast served from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m.

Monday — liver and onions, mashed potatoes, gravy, mexicorn, whole wheat bread, mangoes;

Tuesday — pulled pork sandwich, potato salad, corn-on-the-cob, peach cobbler, vanilla ice cream;

Wednesday — apricot turkey stir-fry, asparagus pepper salad, egg rolls, cottage cheese and cantaloupe salad;

Thursday — tuna salad, stuffed tomatoes, spinach, mango salsa;

Friday — French toast, country fries, ham, scrambled eggs, oatmeal, peaches, coffee, orange juice, tea.

Bus service for those interested: Monday, pick up between 3 and 4 p.m., Mecca Road between Route 373 and Miner Road. Drop off after dinner at 5 p.m.

Friday, pick up between 8 and 9 a.m. Farm Road between School Lane and Tamarack Road. Drop off after breakfast at 10 a.m.
