Pahrump Senior Center

The menu (subject to change) and activities for the week of March 14 – March 18. Two percent milk and juice available daily:

Monday — Mexican corn pie, mixed salad, fresh fruit, soup;

Tuesday — BBQ chicken, potato salad, corn, whole wheat bread, banana/orange, soup;

Wednesday — kielbasa, potatoes, sauerkraut, applesauce, soup;

Thursday — corned beef, cabbage, potatoes and carrots, whole wheat roll, mandarin orange, soup;

Friday – meatloaf, mashed potatoes, corn, salad, whole wheat bread, fruit cup, soup.

Activities

Monday — exercise class, 9:30 a.m.; beading class, 12:30 p.m.; poker, 12:30 p.m.;

Tuesday — exercise class, 9:30 a.m.; seminar – Health Care and Retirement, 10 a.m.; bridge, 12:30 p.m.; haircuts, 1-3 p.m.;

Wednesday — Senior Dimensions, 10 a.m.; Nevada Senior Services, 10 a.m.; JK Nelson Law, for appt. call 727-5008; Crafty Ladies, 12:30 p.m.;

Thursday — Old Men’s Club breakfast, 7-9 a.m.; exercise class, 9:30 a.m.; Infinity Hospice, 10 a.m.; haircuts, 1–3 p.m.;

Friday — T.O.P.S. meeting, 7-9 a.m.; exercise class, 9:30 a.m.; bridge, 12:30 p.m.

Amargosa Valley Senior Center

The menu (subject to change) for the week of March 14 – March 18:

Two percent milk available daily. Meals are served at the Amargosa Valley Senior Center from 4:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. Breakfast served from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m.

Monday — BBQ pork ribs, scalloped potatoes, steamed green beans, whole wheat bread, fresh apple;

Tuesday — herbed baked chicken, bread stuffing, peas and onions, garden salad, mixed berry cup;

Wednesday — spaghetti w/sauce, mixed veggies, garlic toast, fruit cocktail, colorful salad, birthday cake;

Thursday — corned beef and cabbage, baby carrots, red potatoes, Irish soda bread, cookie, pears;

Friday — biscuits and gravy, scrambled eggs, bacon, yogurt and fresh fruit, oatmeal, orange juice.

Beatty Senior Center

The menu (subject to change) for the week of March 14 – March 18:

Two percent milk available daily. Meals are served at the Beatty Senior Center from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

Monday — fish sandwich, French fries, spinach, coleslaw, grapes, cookies;

Tuesday — stuffed cabbage, steamed carrots, egg noodles, garlic bread, apple crisp;

Wednesday — honey mustard chicken, vegetable medley, long grain rice, whole wheat roll, mandarin oranges;

Thursday — pork stew, whole wheat roll, ambrosia, brownie;

Friday — Mexican meatballs, brown rice, seasoned zucchini, garden salad w/low-fat Caesar dressing, corn tortilla, fresh papaya.

BEATTY — People here on the whole, continue to oppose the development of solar-energy projects in areas near the town. A sizable crowd showed up for the Beatty Town Advisory Board’s Utility Scale Solar Projects Workshop on Monday, Feb. 27 where Nye County Director of Planning Brett Waggoner told them that he was there to get their input. “It’s your meeting,” he said. “I just want it to be productive.”
