Seniors helping seniors

The Ms. Senior Nye County Pageant and the Nye County Starlets closed out 2013 with a charity event to benefit the Beatty Senior Center’s Meals on Wheels program demonstrating that seniors really do help seniors.

On Dec. 15, a Christmas Cabaret benefit show was held at the Beatty Community Center featuring members of the Ms. Senior Nye County pageant family and the Nye County Starlets.

A check for $530 was presented to the Beatty Senior Center by Executive Director Scotty Winegar and Director Teri Rogers just in time to ring in the New Year.

Thanks go to Randy Reed and Carrie Radomski of Beatty for helping with all the arrangements to allow this event to take place. Also thanks to Nancy Silva for orchestrating the event.

All of the performers who so graciously donated their time and energy are grateful to the town of Beatty for allowing us to be of service to you. Thanks to everyone who supported this event. We hope to see all of you at our next event.

It was an honor to be able to do our part using our skills and talents to put on the show. This fundraiser allowed us to raise funds that will help to provide food for so many people in Beatty. We wish you all the best in 2014.
