Veterans have a dance this weekend and Nugget features Michael Brown

Ms. Senior Golden Years U.S.A., Inc. is hosting the “Vets Swing” dance beginning at 5:30 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 8, at Mountain Falls.

All residents of Pahrump are invited and the event will benefit local veterans and Ms. Senior Golden Years USA programs.

The evening is specifically to recognize and appreciate all of our veterans in Pahrump. The event will include a dinner service and dancing.

Attendees are asked to bring a donation item of warm clothing to be provided to needy veterans for a free drink ticket. There will be raffles and $1 dances to raise funds for helping veterans in Pahrump. Special awards will be presented to some of our community’s most outstanding veterans.

Tickets are available from any member of Ms. Senior Golden Years, USA Queen’s Court or by calling B.J. Hetrick-Irwin at 775-727-7011. General public admission is $45 and veterans (with proof of service) $40. Dinner service at 6:30 p.m.

“Downtown” Michael Brown from Sha Na Na will join the Las Vegas Road Show at the Pahrump Nugget Stagebar Lounge at 8 p.m., both Friday and Saturday nights.

The old Parrot Heads will put on a performance at the HUBB on Bell Vista Road starting at 7 p.m. A Waylon Jennings tribute will also be featured. The fun begins at 7 p.m. Saturday.

The final museum lecture for the year will feature Loraine Bowman Crowther to talk about Pahrump in the beginning. The event begins at 1 p.m. at the Pahrump Valley Museum on Basin Avenue.

A Veterans Day ceremony will take place Nov. 11 at 11 a.m., at the VFW. There will be guest speakers.

Tom Saitta and Tommy Deering are back at Draft Picks from 6:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m., Tuesday evenings.

A community “sew-in” will take place from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the NyECC building. Call Barbara to RSVP, 751-5356.
